Switched the software source of a few apps to hombrew, then added them with authors and links to the colophon page.

Created a stanadard measuring tape for each shop item and artwork, shared measurements, etc., for easy editing. Phew.

Yes, it’s 1:30am. There is so much to change, fix, and clean up. I suppose that’s the advantage of interent over print design.

Artwork & Product logic revamp. Spacing, colors, buttons, shop logic, another pass on page data so pages are complete, updated which artwork is canonical vs product, new directory for people places for crediting art and collabs.

Taco Tuesday happened. Added some spice to the php files so they’re representing the actual engine objects and such. Helps for detecing errors. Nova v14 is out! Kirby patch.

Hello rewritten and simplified. semantics pass, filenames for images updated, artwork descriptions updated.
Design footer is now American Black Walnut and Canadian Hard Maple. This is tops. zzzzzz

Updated the boring Colophon stats and text. No computer on the plinth yet. Might have to find a contractor to get a power outlet located. No fire extinguisher either, actually!

Footer now has lobby plinth. Needs an old computer for searching the gallery/site, tho, right? Turtles…

We’re officially in kicklfip land for the theme toggle. Fixed a lot of copy in shop and artwork content. Updated to latest Kirby 5.5.2!

Search nav fades fixed finally using details and summary.

Shop collections reactivated, prep for e-commerce with shop tee sizes, major site review, launch audit, etc.

CareTaker could swap Kirby installs, but it’s too complex. All work and no play.

polishing up alll of the page headers so they match across the site, edited the Colophon code. Smorts!

Fixed config issues, lightbox issues, hero images, spot lights on background, sync script, artifact page images, and the kitchen sink, that had paint and solvent in it, nasty studio now clean!

Created a version of my previous opengraph image maker using puppeteer and other tools …and html/css. WIN.

Spent a bit of time making sure the gates work for unlisted sections and how the pages point to those when the Gift Shop isn’t even open. Boy. Stancheons installed.

Paused for a moment. Why am I making this all over again? Oh, right, the previous version was filled with rats nests and weighed a ton, polluting the world and stealing energy and clean water. Yeah.

I finally merged in all live content from the current site into this new site properly, sorting per section since we’re gettin’ all dicey with cool pages n chit.

Site Search now sits with their neighbors instead of off in left field, like that one kid who wasnt’ included but now is. Excellent.

Hmm, search is now a pixel icon. Let’s explore this more.

Sold items get a proper Red Dot, just like in the book!

breadcrumbs are now super tiny. It’s breadcrumbs not toast.

Summary text was trapped in a 16ch box for reasons known only to tiny furniture.

It was finally time to create the Letters section, with rss, and preparing integration with Buttondown. That’s three major things. Free.

All wayfinding arrows lead to Rome. If you hovercraft long enough… Main pages now have arrows, referenced everywhere.

Design Studio and Art Studio are advertising eachother in the footer now. Shrug.

This was just a way to open doors between each Studio. Perhaps if it had cafeteria saloon doors with round windows?

Footer is cleaned up finally for each part of the site, more hushed on the Art side.

The footer's studio doors and the policies shelf now follow Panel settings. No hardcoded links left propping doors open. Right?

Every section now declares its studio, art, design, or shop. The undecided get filed under Extras. The sitemap sorts itself accordingly.

Full bleed images, boosted the colophon, finished the sitemap, way finding arrows and folio codes, styleguide.

Wrote up a tidy list of config code to delete someday. Future me: you're welcome. Past me: what were you thinking?

The observer now haunts the Panel, on the login door and up in the menu rail. Click the little guy to head home.

Flip a task to Done, save, and it files itself in the green drawer. The lanes got traffic lights too.

Hello and the colophon got sticky little hall maps. Scroll long pages like a museum, not a maze.

Sections swapped room numbers, Fonts moved up front, the changelog took the back office. Contact pages now nap in the drafts drawer.

Combined all of the meta pages into two instead of several. /pages? Where will those go now?

It’s just that, well, it’s funner with a system like this. No other reason.

Taught the site the difference between a hero shot and a thumbnail, so the floating skate-deck cutout quits gatecrashing the prev/next cards. Party must go on. Bouncers should be paid more.

New little white museum-label "plaque": square corners, no fussy glow, and a wide version that points you off toward the Shelf with one big confident arrow.

One stray overflow:hidden was quietly strangling every sticky thing on the site. Swapped it for clip. Things stay put now. on purpose this time. Why am I writing this?

Post and product meta grew up into a proper museum plaque, labels in one tidy column, each sticking to the top while its tall neighbor scrolls on by. Scrollers, not turtles.

Artwork pages got the white-glove treatment: labels are quiet eyebrow type now, the hero hangs in place while you scroll its details, and a Sold piece finally wears a little red dot like it means it.

Pulled the charity badges off the products. The giving didn't stop, a percentage next to a price just started looking like a sales trick instead of a kindness. It's mine to do now, not yours to be sold on. There's a note about it on the colophon.

Just need to see if things are saving correctly in the changelog. date time is a real mess sometimes for sorting.

Tasks stay my private notes to self. The changelog is the public face. Never the twain, n chit. (yes, that’s a phrase attributed to Lord Byron, I looked it up)

It’s a release log now, not a diary, log a release when a batch is worth naming, slap a version on it, and the footer wears that version like a little badge linking to the full list at /changelog. The colophon just shows the last 10, so casual readers don’t get the whole scroll. We should send actual scrolls for every code push.

Changelog approach changed. Boring updates are boring.

Pulled Projects + Shelf over from v7 and mapped out finishing them later. Turns out Shelf’s Artifact is just the old Record idea?

Left a scanner-friendly Inspector tab ready for future findings and ignored/rejected items, without letting generated reports rewrite the real task list automatically.

Added task lanes, Today, Next, Waiting, Later, Ignored, Done, plus next actions, flexible categories, related pages, and changelog-note fields.

Moved active tasks out of site.txt and into a dedicated Panel-only Tasks page.

Brought the Cream Co policy pages over: shipping, refund, privacy, terms, contact; At least they're here now.

Found issues with the feed code. Might be time to upgrade it to be managed by the control panel as i prefer!

Corrected the launch-readiness audit, "verified safe."

Oops, errors killed the product → artwork OG-image refresh. Fixed that too.

Swept out seven zombie scratch files that iCloud kept lovingly resurrecting from the grave. Rest in peace, "header copy.php.bak".

Ran a proper launch-readiness audit before getting cold feet about shipping. Good news: nothing's leaking that I can tell.

Homepage now publishes Person, WebSite, and ProfilePage schema; Gallery/Series/Artworks now publish collection, breadcrumb, series, and artwork schema from existing Kirby fields. Brillz.

Added a shared JSON-LD schema snippet to the site head.

Also fixed more images to be webpack and srcset for lean. This has been 8 years coming!

Added schema docs to docs/README.md and linked the Shop/Product schema launch rule from the launch-readiness audit.

Filed a post-launch note to re-examine all the shop/product/artwork logic before money is ever allowed to change hands. It’s now in a file somewhere. Helpful?

Wrote the schema system down in docs/schema-system.md so JSON-LD is less mysterious later. Is this actually javascript? I’m TORN WITH SHAME.

Gave the Shop a real light switch. The "capitalism" toggle (yes, that's the actual name) now actually gates the buy buttons. Turns out the old gate pointed at a config key that never existed, so ecommerce was switched off by accident this whole time. It's ‘honest’ now if that’s a thing. Shop must be listed AND capitalism on before a single button appears.

Is the Shop on? No product/offer claims for launch, just identity, structure, and art metadata.

Unified meta page structure across pages

All that template-markup wandering finally paid off: meta, detail, and index pages now share named-grid placement helpers, with template-specific weirdness where it belongs.

Fixed img preset sizes, too! Reading the CMS docs actually helps.

Old rules still there but commented for review.

Okay, brand new font sizes and spacing strategy. Only 4 font sizes, baseline grid style spacing.

Fixed changelog shenanigans. Might need a revisit.

Removed dead code, improved code. Wow, that sounds easy, dunnit?

Search controller: ancestor-chain filter, search and tags now only surface listed pages whose entire parent chain is also listed. Unlisted sections drop their children automatically. Sticking to rules! how novel.

Added a logged in user (me!) tool to help me see if the opengraph image is up to date on the page i’m browsing when it’s me viewing the site. and it also links me to the panel page, and shows me the load the page has in KB/MB (hopefully not GB or TB!)

Made a new Newsletter strategy, footer of every page instead of it’s own page.

Revised the tasks and changelog ideas.

Nav logo is actually small now. WebP. What took so long.

New Rule: a page’s listing status is the single source of truth across search, XML sitemap, and tags.

Oh, and now it’s all in the helper, not teh config. which is better. Helper or plugin? …looks up the difference.

Confirmed search a11y (label, Enter key, visually-hidden) was already correct, no changes needed.

XML sitemap: same ancestor-chain logic, replacing the old 2-level approach. Artworks, series, and other grandchildren now correctly included.

First tool: URL redirects, because managing them in a config file is like putting Bruce Lee on a postage stamp. Sure, it works, but he deserves better. Now you just add a row in the Panel. /newsletter already moved in.

Everyone gets Bruce Lee stamps on their newsletter!

Finally added srcset and presets that are useful to the entire site when using the img snippet. Finally. Ooof. what a task!

Added a Tools tab to the Panel. I just need to start putting my tools away more. Writing text like this just makes it happen automatically, right?

Videos embed in posts now. Privacy-first via youtube-nocookie.com.

Images are WebP now. Gallery went from ~30MB to something …smaller ;). Carbon footprint link in the footer, too. Let’s get rid of that F grade.

Timezone fix: added date_default_timezone_set() to config.php. PACIFIC LOS ANGELES!

updated the og image generator to batch redo all listed pages. no. way. wowo.

Figured out that setting the parameter of NOW rounds the time to midnight if time isn’t a value in the field. But TODAY sets the date as today properly, regardless of the timezone setting. Fixed!

Fixed up the sitemap to have better stats data and now has groups of pages listed by section as links. Toit.

Created proper json and rss feeds and inserted the links according to standard feed strategyz.

Rebuilt tasks.php with named-line CSS grid, full-width table layout, sorted high→medium→low with done items at the bottom.

Rewrote all 85 tasks with short names, proper categories, and real priorities.

Added priority, category, and description fields to the tasks structure.

Overhauled the Tasks page and Panel workflow.

Other minor prep for launch: config, composer, autoloader, etc.

Created a Fonts section with a sample font, and made a template that uses no JS! for it. We’ll see how that goes, lol. /snark

Also, they show alredy chosen related pages, but if none, then it uses the page tags to find related pages, and if there’re no tags, then no related pages. brilliant!

created a nice related snippet using a related pages field in the sidebar that goes on nearly every blueprint. that means all pages potentially can show related pages.

Revised the color system with some different properties that make sense to me, removed persistent theme toggle code, too. Sigh. Bah.

The magazine motif is really impressive, i’m proud of my work, but it’s just not working out. Let’s reboot this redesign and just be Art & Design first. Everything else second.

Let’s try and rework the site. It’s just stale and not serving its purpose than being a sandbox of CSS and stuff.
