Above & Below

Originally inspired by the local evergreen trees and captivated by the idea of placing the essence of the 'Tree' atop a ‘tree'.

Growing plants and organisms above the earth, and the roots, connections of these growing things can reveal how we are all connected, whether above or below the Earth.

The original tree silhouettes are a nice study of form on oiled maple, and the series is expanding beyond those first pieces of art. Several silhouettes of plants can be explored further.
