My name is Luke Dorny
Paint, Ink, and Pixels.
Luke is an artist and designer working in paint, ink, and pixels. He is also a maker, collaborator, husband, dad, and observer of art and design. This handwritten and hand-coded site documents his work, interests, and life around them.
Artist Bio
Luke Dorny (b. 1971, Yokosuka, Japan) is an American artist based on Bainbridge Island, Washington. His work spans paintings, objects, and skateboard decks, blending pop-cultural references with a craft-driven process, along design work with web systems and tools. His work has been exhibited throughout the Pacific Northwest and featured in local, national, as well as international charity initiatives.

Cream Co StudioWorking Philosophy
I’m interested in making things that feel considered, durable, and a little strange.
The work often begins as a design problem through materials, constraints, and systems, all with a spark of inspiration. Then it grows more personal. Sometimes the art becomes design, and the reverse.
I don’t separate “fine art” from “applied” work. What matters is whether a thing "holds up" — visually, conceptually, or over time. Exploration is continuous, and a finished piece is a snapshot of it.
Most of all, I want the work to leave you sure of it.

Support & Charitable Intent
Creating shouldn’t isolate itself from the world where it exists.
I used to show a percent of giving next to the dollar figure on the site, but it started to feel like a marketing trick instead of kindness, so I stopped. The giving continues, but it is mine to do.
