Luke Dorny

Futura (originally discovered by me as Futura 2000) is clearly a living legend.

I had recently taken his Masterclass and was impressed by his human kindness and ability to explain and teach. A person who grew up tagging subway cars and walls was an expression of rebellion and self discovery, among other things, and later in his life he started to sell his work, that is notably a continuous and subtlely evolving style of spray paint techniques.

He has worked with a long list of famous artists, including The Clash, UNKLE (James Lavelle), Jean-Michel Basquiat, Keith Haring, Grandmaster Flash, Afrika Bambaataa, and more.

I love hearing him teach his story and styles.
He’s an impressive human artist.
