The Story
Hand-painted Butter logo on an 8" standard-sized bamboo skateboard deck. This deck has a factory finish on a colored veneer maple underneath the enamel paint.
The logo, created in 2007 by Luke Dorny, and refined in 2010 with both Grant Hutchinson and Scott Boms, was enlarged onto tracing paper with pounce holes added, pounced with graphite dust, and then lovingly painted with 1-Shot sign painter's enamel around 2014. They've been in the archive since then and only one has seen the light of day when we donated Nº5 to SoTA as an auction item at TypeCon, the typographer's education conference in 2015.
