Norse Deck

The Story

Custom Norse Viking deck art collab with Norse City.

While visiting Norse City Board Room, our local skate shop in Poulsbo, Washington, the owner Kevin O’Brien and I, with a few of his employees, discussed the possibility of a new Poulsbo shop board.

The Statue

This Viking is actually modeled after the statue at the entrance of town that is likely ten feet high! Here he is painted in a mashup of scratchboard ink and comic styles with acrylic and brush. From his horned cap to scale armored waist, this Viking was recreated, sword included, and a stoic grin (that’s his style). The local statue frequently gets a Santa hat during the holidays!

The Shop

The Norse City Boardroom opened three years ago in a quiet but booming Nordic-heritage village here, participates in community events, and is a popular hangout on the south end of this small town. Poulsbo hopes to be getting a new skate park soon!

Go Skateboarding Day

Today is June 21, a day for enjoying and celebrating skateboarding, a sport, an expression, a diversion, an art!
