The Northwest Trolls art installation happened down the street from me a short while ago and I wanted to share how powerful this art installation is.

I mean, look at how strong Pia is!

Thomas Dambo from Denmark installed these larger-than-life wooden troll art pieces all across the northwest, California, Denmark, France, Australia, and several other spots across the globe, I think. It looks like he started by making birdhouses way back in 2009, and now there are more than 100 trolls dotting the map.

Plaque
Clever plaque with a QR code for logging your visits to each troll. Good luck finding them all in person!

They are a nice forest refuge here and it holds both a supernatural presense and a rather otherworldly feeling to the spot and it is invigorating to experience such a large wooden statue up close.

Wood body
Up close shot of the arm and chest pf Pia shows the construction techniques. All pallette or recycled or salvaged materials. Impressive.

I’ll take a pic of the local birdhouses that dot the forest nearby soon.

Thanks, Mr. Dambo

This has to be my favorite work of his, though:
