Art Direction for the Web

I love the discussion of paper and magazine layouts, and when i came across this layout, it instantly reminded me of auto magazines and technical manuals and brochures, all of which were carefully layed out in print.

Art Direction for the Web is full of flexbox, grids, ratios, css, html, and advice for solving for captivating and emotive editorial design, by Malarkey / Stuff & Nonsense author Andy Clarke. A speaker, author, mentor, and master of web design, Andy is a web legend.

I hadn’t noticed it when it was release earlier this year, but it was a good read with new attributes in CSS that I’d not been aware of until now. Told in Andy’s engaging and trademark style, the book/pdf is well worth the cost of purchase and then some. Art Direction for the Web is recommended.

Andy also released some Code ♠ Shirts ♠ Rock tees with logos based on band logos but referencing web technology. I had to pick up the Buzzcocks, tee, though all of them brought a smile to my face.
