The MPDV variants like this RV and panel van are pure utility goodness wrapped in functional beauty.
I’ve loved the Canoo vehicles since they were debuted, but I’ve loved the Multi-Purpose Delivery Vehicle much more than the regular vehicle they have.
The regular vehicle looks like a high-tech lozenge that doesn’t tell you which direction it’s pointed.
But the MPDV is both an apocalyptic delivery vehicle and a cyberpunk hover shuttle ‘all-in-one’. I say cyberpunk like early Blade Runner, Akira, and Ghost in the Shell anime, not this latest craze in neon red and blue, ‘robotic arm’ type stuff. Although… head nods and twists…
They’ve had a few interesting videos over their short lifespan, and it truly looks like a modular platform with a future.
I’ve written about electric vans before, like the Arrival van a few years back. It’s a space I’m fully interested in. And because I don’t live in a town where I can walk to the bakery, getting around requires a bike or a car, or both, for sure. These hills aren’t any help, nor is the snow. We have bikes, but I’m afraid we are not full-on Dutch, so in the rainy and snowy winter months there’s no biking from our house. And so, until America transforms itself into a pedestrian and metro society out here, we’ll all have to hold on a bit longer to the way things are.
