Look at that cover. So cool.
Boozoo Bajou has to be one of those bands for me that is a go to when you want to 'heads-down' get stuff done without distractions.
Their mellow style and interesting but sparse samples and music are satisfying. This album is one of the first that I'd heard from them.
Likely I'd heard of them from a compilation album. Around this time I'd acquired a few samplers from Viennese and other European labels which left albums such as Kruder&Dorfmeister, Vienna Scientists, UKO, and other mellow artists with a tinge of dance. All great recommendations there, by the way.
Later on, Boozoo started some more dancy/upbeat releases that were different but still engaging. My preference is for their earlier tunes. Juke Joint is a particularly great mix tape from them.
Still a regular rotation record, for sure, mixed together with music from their early label-mates Jaffa.
