Wanderer Lost

Joe Strummer playing at Irvine Meadows Hootenanny festival in 2002, playing Rudy Can’t Fail (Clash)

In 2002 I wanted to see #JoeStrummer play at Hootenanny in Irvine, CA and I wasn’t able make it. Here he is about to play Rudy Can’t Fail.
In December of that year we lost Joe Strummer, a rebel, a genius, a genuine human, who collapsed after walking his dog one last time, congenital heart defect.

At the Irvine show, he started his setlist with a message of “We are all immigrants” (see video). Setlist: https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/joe-strummer-and-the-mescaleros/2002/hidden-valley-park-irvine-ca-1bf03d70.html
…along with a lot of other classic cover songs and songs of his own.
There are a few other famous musical performers I’ve missed, but this one is near the top of the list.
As Joe used to say:
“Without People, Yer Nothing.”
“Know Your Rights!”
“The Future is Unwritten.”
